Help Bhuzzers! I used a heat wrap last night, took it off this morning and then since it was still warm I put it on again this afternoon after a workshop and drove 3 hrs home. When I got home and it took it off discovered that the skin around my lower back and upper hips is burned and blistered. I washed the area and slathered on some A&D ointment.
Anyone have any ideas what to do next? Bhuzzers know everything!

Re: Burns from Thermacare Heat Wrap
I don't think there is much you can do except treat the areas as you normal would for burns. Quick googling shows it's an alarmingly common issue/complaint with the product and that (I don't know your age) the product itself (in small print) warns that people 55 or older should use caution when using the product.

Re: Burns from Thermacare Heat Wrap
Are you sure it's not an allergic reaction? My skin does the same thing your describing with this product and with tiger balm brand. I used arnica cream on the affected area and stopped using those kinds of products.

Re: Burns from Thermacare Heat Wrap
I've used these before and I have to be very careful not to leave it on too long. I believe the brand I used actually stated not to wear it while sleeping. For me it's the whole put a frog in water and heat it up thing. I get used to it and don't even realize it is burning me. I would treat it like you would any burn, and watch for signs of infection. Hope it goes away soon. {{HUGS}}

Re: Burns from Thermacare Heat Wrap
Should have read all the warnings before using it, but i have used this before with no problems. One warning is to not use things like Icy Hot in conjunciton with it. And not to use on skin that has been previously treated with topicals like Icy Hot. Yikes!

Re: Burns from Thermacare Heat Wrap
It's a chemical burn, not a heat burn, just so you know what you're dealing with.

You should report it to the FDA, and I recommend joining the inevitable class action suit...
