Thread: I Love My Belly, And Everything That Comes With It

I love my protruding belly, I love my big round butt, I love my amply shaped thighs, I love that little extra reverberation on my arms, I love how my face is filled out just so, I love my generous hips, I love my breasts, I love my "Love Handles", I love my size 14.

I don't love that no one else loves it.

I'm not on a diet for me, I'm on a diet for them. So that I'm not scorned or looked over. Media is making me think like everyone else. I saw someone the other day, and thought "She's fat and needs to lose a few pounds.” She was a size 10. I hate that I thought that. Me, who loves my body.

If I don't have a boyfriend by the time I graduate collage, I'm leaving the country.

I love your sense of humor and I love that you love yourself-I bet it shows in your dancing!
For myself, I love that I'm finally at a point in my life that I can disregard whether "you" love my belly/face/butt or hate it...I love to dance and when I dance in public I strive to put my best self out there...but I do it mostly for me cuz I don't want to see any horrid pictures later. Still get some horrid pictures but at least it's not from lack of trying!!

I love that you love you. Very rare for young people today. I have too many friends that keep having things done to their bodies and faces because they are so insecure with themselves. It is so sad.

I've stopped worrying about other people sometime in high school - people would harrass me often for being the "fat" girl (and I'm not even that big, especially not anymore) but I never saw a reason to hide myself. I'm 6ft tall and if anyone tries to tell me that not having a 24inch waist is not right for me, I'll elbow them in the teeth.

I care about my food. A lot. Because I love my body and myself and I want to decide what I put in there - which is why I cook almost all the time, don't eat animal products and read labels. I love myself too much to not care. But it makes me sad to see my classmates counting calories and worrying about being size 8 while treating their bodies like rubbish bins. THAT is something that makes me angry too. No matter what, I'm taking good care of myself.

I recently had a discussion with a friend of mine who has been large all her life. All she talks about is being overweight and food. I finally said to her, you know, I really no longer have judgments about my body. I have accepted that this is who I am at this point in my life. I would like to drop 20#, but if I never do, I don't hate myself or think less of myself. Because I know that my weight and size has nothing to do with who I am as a person. I am still eating healthy and exercising, working on loosing that weight. But I'm okay with me.

All of which is true and I have done a lot of work - mental, spiritual, physical, emotional - to get here. had to let go of a lot of preconceived notions including worthiness and self esteem. Not easy. But for me, completely worth it.

I haven't heard from her in over 2 weeks. . .

LOL! No sooner did I post this than she called me. Turns out she decided to take the bull by the horns, so to speak and went on Wellbutron. She has lost 12 lbs in the last 3 weeks and has found that many of her OCD tendencies have stopped being an issue. Her best example of this is the bag of Christmas cookies which are her favs is still in the cupboard.

Not bad considering she is pretty sedentary at this point because she is awaiting surgery for a torn meniscus and other knee issues.

I'm glad to hear that, I was going to post before that maybe she was on a vision quest as a joke but then thought better of it.
Maybe I was right?LOL
