Thread: Arm Update

First of all I have to say - any dancers in the LA area who have had an injury, run, don't walk (unless it's your leg that's been injured, of course) to the Cedars-Sinai center for Dance Medicine! You will be treated like gold. The director, Margo Apostolos, is a dancer herself, and very committed to the health and well-being of other dancers regardless of their level, professional or otherwise. I've never met a doctor who took so much time to talk to me, even calling me at home. And the therapists are great too. I've been getting strengthening exercises to do at home, and learned that I have unusually flexible shoulder joints which may have contributed to throwing my arm out beyond the normal range, causing my muscle to tear. I am scheduled to go in to the PT clinic for the next 4 or 5 weeks and it's expected that in 3-6 months my arm ought to be healed. And I can start going back to dance class this week!
