Hungry for Change - online premiere

I came across an invite for this movie: Free Worldwide Online Premiere Cinema | FOODMATTERS®

I'm sharing it here, for anyone who is interested in food (meaning actual food, not the processed stuff) and how to eat better.

Enjoy. let me know what you think of it.

Hey, if it encourages better and healthier eating, I'm all for it.

I posted somewhere else here that I was low-carbing for 2 weeks back in January. I kept it up since then, my boobs are shrinking to a much more normal size from the balloons they were (thank God and rutabagas!), I've got my athletic contours back, and I feel better. I felt down today from a combination of work hell, PMS, and lack of sleep so I went for some "comfort cookies" and milk for the first time in 2 1/2 months. Afterward, my tummy hurt like the dickens from the sugar, the chemicals in the processed crap, or maybe I'm more lactose intolerant than I realized so the milk was getting to me, or a combination of all of it. I couldn't believe how bad it was hurting, considering I used to have an iron stomach for all that garbage.

Every Sunday now for weeks I've roasted a big pan of rutabagas, zucchini, taters, bell pepper, onions, and a few other veggies to eat on for a few days. Then I'll branch out to other healthy stuff until it's Sunday again. I hate cooking (mostly because I don't have time) but I'm having to do more of it for health's sake.

P.S. I like Jamie Oliver, too. Need to see if he's got an easy recipes cookbook.....

Good for you! I have had some great success with the Eat Clean books (lost about 30 lbs) but work has been so crazy, plus injuries keeping me from dancing for a few months, it has been creeping back.

I'm thinking of trying juicing. I already do green smoothies to boost my intake of greens, but with juicing I would be able to get nutrients of veggies I wouldn't normally eat or put in my smoothie. (I get plenty of fiber, but it's the nutrients i am concerned about.) Plus, I think that juicing would help my digestive system... I got to research juicers. I want something that cleans easily, or i'm not gonna use it :)

And yes, eating clean food and going back to processed takes its toll on the body. I have had that happen a couple of times, and it really is no fun.

Green Smoothie Girl has some good recipes for treats that are organic, whole foods. I need to find some raw chocolate powder...

I tried juicing and was going broke buying veggies and fruit. You get little juice in return for what you pay, and you're throwing out the bulk of what you bought. It was not worth it for me, so I decided I'd rather drink water and eat the food. There are some recipes out there that have you just mix the veggies in a smoothie just like you would fruit.
