About Me

I am a New Zealander, living is Aussie, spent 10 years in Indonesia, and 1 year in Thailand, but it seems my husband have hung up his roaming shoes ... sadly, I love living in other countries.

I am a mother of 4 ( youngest 16) Grandmother of 5. We have 2 cats, Chaos a big sooky boy and sweet gentle little Blue Burmese Mya.

I am totally addicted to Bellydance. Have just begun teaching a beginners class. Style is Egyptian through & through. But do enjoy watching other styles. I even enjoy fusion. maybe if I was younger I would even give it a go!

I detest with a passion cold weather <shudder> Favourite season Summer! Yay!

Favourite TV Channels & shows: History channel stuff, Discovery, National Geographic & Animal Planet. Fluffy shows I love - Glee, Gossip Girl, Army Wives, Greys Anatomy. I also enjoy the Scifi Channel - Star Gate Universe and shows like that.

My Favorite Dancers

Ranya Renee, love her! Nadia Gamal, Aziza, Hanan - There are others, but they are a few off the top of my head

My Favorite Costumes

My favourite of the moment is a Leopard & green dress by Hanan Mahmoud ( had no idea it was one of hers until I bought it). I also have a lovely black dress which is very elegant, made for me by Mohamed Gomaa in Cairo.

As long as a costume fits well and is 'sparkly' I don't worry to much about designer names. I am also a silver person, so tend to go for costumes with sparkly silver accents somewhere on it.

My dream costume is an Eman Zaki <sigh> Shiny red/black with the black net body suit worn over a black bra & my number 2 wish list costume costume is a neon greeny-yellow Pharaonixs .... one day!

My Dance/Music Style

Egyptian Style, along with the appropriate music.

My Favorite Music

Favourites in Music come and go. But I do love Tahtil Sibbak and La, La by O'mda. I also heart some of Mario Kirlis's music

I am really enjoying the DVD Hard Candy at the moment and the music.

Anything Else . . .

I don't like long, big dangly earrings, they look ridiculous on me! But can look great on others.

I love any book about bellydance, I also enjoy books on the Middle East, historical, personal or even novels.

The new book from WDNY "Dance Of The Mind" looks interesting - another one for my book Wish List!
