I have a fabric question:
I LOVE L. Roses' trumpet skirts. The only one that I have had in the past was a stretch velvet one. I am about to get another velvet to match a costume, but I am thinking of getting one additional (Why not - right!)
I'm not sure if I should stick with the tried an true stretch velvet or go for a lighter lycra. I have horrible celulite on my thighs, and I'm afraid you might be able to see if with lycra because it is a lighter weight fabric. If it makes a difference, I was going to get a it in turquoise or pink.
What do you guys think?

Re: Lycra VS Stretch Velvet
The lycra they use is not that thin and I think that unless you wear your skirt really tight and had a light color, the cellulite would not be problem. The deluxe trumpet skirts are not as tight and I think they have a new even more deluxe trumpet skirt.
You could always order the lycra skirt a little larger in the lower hips too. Or just talk to Lora about your situation and see what her suggestion is.

Re: Lycra VS Stretch Velvet
I'd consider a couple things in making this decision. If you use silk veils at all- the stick to velvet like crazy, so lycra would be better. I also consider velvet a "winter" fabric, so might feel lycra more versatile.
Could you wear something like a Spanx undergarment to add some smooth support if needed? That might be a good option.

Re: Lycra VS Stretch Velvet
I have an L. Rose lycra trumpet skirt in turquoise, and can confirm the material is very substantial and not thin at all. My butt and thighs are cellulite city, and the lycra does just as good a job at smoothing me out as the velvet ones do. It's a bit tighter than the velvet, so you might want to go a skootch larger in the hips or it may ride up a bit.
Here's a picture of me in the turquoise, and there are others in the photo gallery on my website.
