Personally..unless you are tall and willowy and very small waisted..stay away from the ruched abdomen...kiss of death...

I agree. This would only work for a tall skinny figure.

Call me crazy, or maybe just blind. I don't see any ruching at the abdomen and think the lighter, see-through strip down center front might actually have a slimming effect.

i'm fairly tall and skinny- not too skinny.. i dont think. i am still worried about the ruching.. sometimes it doesnt sit right on a skinny person...
it almost looks like the top can be cut away from the skirt

That's a nice eBay seller, btw. I bought a costume from them last fall, and it was measured accurately, and they shipped really fast.

Where's the ruching? Do you mean the fold/pleat at center front of the skirt? If you have any belly at all, that will fall away from the biggest part, and from a side profile will give the impression of a flatter belly. However, it may not drape well and stick out instead, if that's what you mean, but that's something you'd never know without trying it on.

It sounds like you're just not sure if you like the style, in which case you should go with your instincts.
