Do you want to actually use the veil or have it be a frame that you drop immediately?
You could find a bronzey/gold-y chiffon, that would flutter nicely. If you're in the market for an Akai veil, I'd recommend maybe the Merkaba, since that has fiery colours as well as a deep blue tone.

I see Emerald green. I would stay away from "busy" designs as I personally would think it would take away from the skirt and belt.

sapphire blue play up the blue tones in the skirt, since it's subtle.

Or try a total contrast a purple perhaps, maybe even a gold or silver. I like to have my veils with a bit of contrast and not matchy, matchy I want the veil to stand out as a frame around me, not hover in the background. silk or chiffon would work, or blue liquid lame would be stunning. Those are my suggestions.

Were I making a custom dyed silk veil for this, I might try a veil of mostly my secret recipe old gold with a deep sapphire blue edge that bled up in little flames into the old gold.
not that I"m trying to sell you anything...

I have one of Sedonia's veils she custom made for me and I love it! If I ever sell the costume, I'm keeping the veil. the new owner will have to find her own.

I agree with you, Alrana, matching fabric of skirt is very tough and I think it usually looks off, and "matchy matchy" can be overwhelming. So I usually go for a complete contrast to skirt, in this case I'd do a gold lame, maybe liquid or tissue lame or even halographic gold lame becuase it doesn't wrinkle as much as regular tissue lame and would be stunning with that bra/belt. Gold chiffon wouldn't be dynamic enough for me, unless it was trimmed perhaps in a 1/2" wide band of dark blue sequins to "pick up" the colors of the skirt as well as bra/belt.
If there were a silk custom dyed dark blue gold veil, that would be beautiful but then the pattern could be too busy because the bra and belt already has a pattern.

Sedonia's suggestion sounds perfect to me -- dramatic & very elegant at the same time.

I'd be curious to know how you do this without getting green where the sapphire and gold meet.

I would use an organza veil, with a crossweave that picked up the color. something like http://tribes.tribe.net/nanna/photos...2-34e803061dab

Here are some of my photos. Unfortunately a HD crash ate all photos of "old gold", but at least you can see my concept of a contrasting edge that bleeds but doesn't muddy with the other color. Old gold is a muted gold that approaches a real metallic gold. The golds in the photo album above are NOT the one I'm thinking of -- they are all yellowy or orangey.
Your costume is mostly blue with some gold, so a veil in mostly gold with some blue would be a nice contrast I think, and would provide contrast regardless of whether you are against a dark or light background.

I agree with Sedonia's color diagnosis, though I might go for an all-over design rather than an edge bleed. Have you seen the veils by Shibori Borealis?

I would use a tye dye veil of teal and dark blue. Ask Akai silks if she does custom orders.

the last one -- pink with contrasting black edge: (pretend pink is old gold and black is sapphire blue)
if you're leaning towards teal/sapphire

sorry, I loaded some pics up earlier today and for some reason they dissappeared. Its fixed now,. Take a look at the last two: "pink with black edge" but pretend the pink is muted gold and the black a deep sapphire.
Other edge effects I have in that album are the red/black and pink/silver.
Or check out the teal/blue one I posted above. Sorry, I don't know how to post images from my yahoo photos, and I only have some of these uploaded on my university server page.

If you want a chiffon veil- I would look for an irridecent black and navy. it would also be very nice. I have a navy and green one that I adore.
good luck!
