Thread: Assuit costume inspirations

I've been wanting to make a costume with assuit for awhile now. I'm thinking a bra covered in assuit (right now I'm thinking black), panel skirt (assuit) over a black or red circle skirt, and maybe evenually a belt incorporating the assuit. I'm also thinking of decorating it with silver coins and perhaps beading. Oh and stylistically, I'm more of a american/egyptian mutt style than tribal, if that matters. Anyway have favorite pictures to share for some inspiration?? Perhaps even old school coinage that would meld well with assuit?

Teamed with melos. bra from Domba( our assuit inspiration) but the rest of the troupe bought assuit lengths from ebay and covered bras and we got assuit hip scarves. We als have coloured pieces to make panels and tops in future

I made an assuit bedlah (with help from my dance partner), it has a more tribal feel but I am going to add some more stuff to it and make it a little more tribaret.

That's an assuit bra I'm wearing in my avatar, though it's hard to tell. I made a matching belt that is really like a sash with a long panel that hangs in front, and I wore it over an assuit skirt with boy shorts and shocked the nation.

I didnt get to finish off the top of the panel skirts as professionally as I would have liked, but time didnt permit it on this one.

I was so itching to do something with Assuit for a long long time!

That is totally hot! Yummy tribal assuit. What's not to love LOL.
