Thread: Arabic father/daughter songs

Hi,

My father passed away 2 years ago this July 4, and I've started a tradition of donating all my tips on the day I dance that is closest to that date to the American Heart Association. This year, I'm dancing the 12th in his memory. Does anyone know a good Arabic father-daughter song i could incorporate? I'd like at least a rough translation of the lyrics, too.

ETA - this is a different song, but there is one called "kaberna". It's got a bittersweet feel.

I don't know what feel you're going for exactly, but if you want more humorous/upbeat, and can handle Turkish, there is always Istemem Babacim. I think it's nice you are doing this.

I like this, but it is so LONG....could I hold out on a slow song that long? (Passes out mid-figure-8)
