Thread: Leh Bedari Kedah - what on earth is this about?

I was just listening to this pretty catchy song from one of my compilation CDs and googled it out of curiosity just to see if I could find a translation. I just found a music video, which sometimes give you a hint what the song's about, and now I'm thoroughly confused. Basically, the singer alternates between dancing in a red tango dress, a school girl outfit, and a gym rat outfit with free weights. Oh, and there are a few scenes of her riding an exercise bike while looking poutily into the camera. Anyone know what this song is about or want to hazard a guess?

OH, Roubi -- that video (especially the exercise bike part) was stirring up some controversy a couple of years ago, if I remember right.

Roubi is basically the Middle Eastern Britney, if that helps. So the video is about Roubi doing sexy things wearing sexy clothes.

the song is about a girl longing for a guy she loves and not knowing what to do with herself when hes not responding/ignoring.

Thanks, guys. Guess I should have searched longer. I have to say, those lyrics are way more tragic than I would have expected from that peppy sounding song and the silly video.

Hee, I just checked the translation and am pleased that I had worked out "why" and "like this" all by myself.

..g.: Zumarrad, yes, know exactly what you mean. I once explained to a friend that as far as I could tell, there are 3 basic types of loves songs in Arabic: lost love, forbidden love, and unrequited love.

I think what's funny is how the agonized, lovelorn lyrics just don't go with the pop synth sound and the tacky MTV style video, at least not to me.
