Thread: Help NEED Modern TURKISH Party Songs!!

I am doing a Turkish party on sat night..Its a 4th of Julyish party..I need some modern pop songs..I am already using Tarkan DuDu & Dilli Duduk..Need to fill a half hour..So no more Tarkan..Any help for a Turkish Entrance song& some pop would be soooo appreciated..I will buy the songs on itunes..Just need some guidance Thanks

Anything on the Mezdeke CD's, or Vol. III from Harem is GREAT for clubby, ambient Turkish music. (There's a great track called "Gia" featuring Despina Vandi on Harem's CD).

"Turkish Groove" from the Putumayo collection, available at Borders, has some fun stuff, too.

OR if you're adventurous and prefer what sounds like a Turkish version of Eminem, I'd recommend anything by Ceza. I don't even know what he is singing about in Turkish, but he is a SICK rapper. Not necessarily the best for family-friendly events, though....best kept for the American clubs

my suggestion would be to youtube these artists and find songs you like, and then if you want i can help you get a basic meaning and let you know if it wuld be bellydance appropriate...
and then you can buy the song or cd or whatever!

Candan Ercetin (the c in the last name is actually the c w/ the squiggly) and her CD Aman Doctor isn't the latest latest thing but it's only a few years old and is full of updated modern approaches to old Turkish/Turkish rom classics that everyone will know. Very familiar but still hip.

Alerjim Var has soem good pop.
