Thread: Need SLAMMIN Drum solo music

Hi all. Does anyone know of any realllllllly awesome slammin drum solos? I know of all the "regulars" (as in the ones you see on almost every CD like Sahra Saeeda, etc.). My dance partner and I want to work on a drum duet/duel and I would love to be able to use a different ROCKIN drum solo, or a combination of a couple.

Issam. And Carmine Guida's CD is good. Not many on here like Emad Sayyah, but I like a few of his drum solos. Quite thrifty.

I love Sayed Balaha's "Around The World"; it has a number of different styles, but they're all strong and very danceable.

Do you have any time lengths you are looking for, under 2 minutes, or a longer 5 minute piece with lots of changes. Also, are you looking for loud and fast, for lots of shimmies, or something that has taks and accents? I'm a drum solo fanatic!!

Whow! Great! I would also be interested in some that have taks and accents as i do get bored from the most ones only having shimmies and shimmies and shimmies and shimmies......

On the "Jordan" CD by Raquy and the Cavemen, there's a drum solo called "Dueling Darbukas." It might be perfect for the duet/duel you have in mind because it's two drummers. It's pretty fast tempo, four and a half minutes long.

Move by Said Mrad off of Another 1001 Nights is fun. There are 2 versions on the CD. One is about 5 minutes the other version is over 7.

Adam Basma has one on his drum solo collection CD, #3, it's actually off one of his older CD's, he remixed a lot of other drum solo's onto this CD, but this is the one I think is better ones.

Sami Nossair Orchestra Beyond the Desert #13, my dance company performs to a medley I made from this and Amir Sofi's drum solo from his Millennium CD. I have definately started mixing drum solo's to my own liking.

Umm...how cool is this?? How do you mix your own drum solos?? What program do you use? Would love more info. Can you do this in audacity?

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I am going to check them all out! The length of the song should be like MAX 6 or 7 minutes, thereabout. If there are shorter ones I can hook them together. I would like something that has a variety of rhythms and is not too fast so that we can really use our personalities as part of the dance. I like accents and when a really nice hard hitting beledi rhythm breaks up a drum solo.

I WISH I had a live band or drummer....but no such luck.

I had a pro do it for my dance company, I do some editing on my own, but I use a CD burner that's part of my stereo system, I don't like computer programs, they always seem to leave breaks between songs for a second or
two.
With my stereo system I can fade in and out, and also cut and paste music together. You need a clean break in the drum solo's. If they have that electronic drum in the background you will need a pro to make it work. Otherwise, you can cut and paste in the breaks. I've edited some great Egyptian songs as well because they were too long for what I was doing.

Anything by SUSU PAMPANIN! I especially like "Hands of Time" and "Fate," which was done with Suhaila Salimpour.
