Whomever posted this in the Mp3s, has anyone figured out what song this is?!
Has anyone figured out what song and artist this is:
http://www.bhuz.com/plugins/mp3/mp3p...autostart=true
Whoever posted asked if it was Ya Habibi by Warda. I have no idea, and there's no way I can search for "Ya Habibi" to find this song. Mission impossible. I love this song and it's exactly what I need.
Anyone?
Thanx!

I have no idea if this is the same, but it's worth throwing out there - there's a "Ya Habibi" on the album "Majestic Bellydance". No clip on Dahlal, though, and I haven't found a clip elsewhere (though Amazon sells it.)

ooh! Ooh! I know this song! Bobby Farrah taught a lovely choreo to it, and I did my own version for my advanced students last year. Lemme go find the Setrak CD it's on...

OK, *not* Setrak, just in that section of my CD collection. The song is called Walou Inak Ya Habibi Baid (If you were far away, my darling) and it's on Daniel Der Sahakian's "Belly Dance with Warda and Abdul Halim Hafez." CD number is VOS-CD 10049.
Daniel Der Sahakian has been vending at Rakkasah East the last couple of years, if you can't find this anywhere else. The back of the CD doesn't have any web info but has a phone number in LA: 818-797-1228.
The same CD has a lot of other nice tracks -- Kariat El Fingan, Mawoud, Nebtedi -- but none as hauntingly beautiful as the one posted here.

Ah, and if you could see the Ibrahim Farrah choreography to it... It was one of the ones that made me cry. It was so beautiful.

I can ask the Lebanese musicians in Stockholm when they come back to Sweden!
I don´t know the name or artist,
yet I´ve danced live with cane to this song in peppy debke arrangements many times!:)
Where´s Suha Azar?
She would know the name instantly,
I´m sure.Last edited by emma-bessa; 08-05-2008 at 02:56 PM. Reason: spelling like a 3 year old

I have it in my iTunes as "Ya Habibi" by Warda from an album called Desert of Eden. I can't recall the conversation we had about it...I think Anala figured the whole thing out?

Heh,
I only ever heard this at Lebanese parties,so I tried searching for lebanese+assaya on YouTube and the song came up directly as a cane dance with Rindala from Lebanon!:D

Wow, she has major energy in that clip! I was hoping she wouldn't hit herself, or break her neck!
