Thread: Can you identify this music for me?

Hi,

I just posted two songs I would really love to buy, but I don't know the artist name, or song title to either one.

Titled:

Unknown/Unknown
Unknown2/Unknown2 (very imaginative I know, but it's 3:30 and I'm tired)

I know it's a bad recording, it's off a VHS tape of a dance rehearsal (late 90's).
I had to record it using an open microphone.

I hope to post several more songs I'm looking for in the future. These songs Meena and Veena danced to on the Jenny Jones show in the late 90's.
In one show they wore black and gold, and another they wore green with gold underskirts (if remember these shows, and music, please let me know the songs).

Sorry, I had a listen as I felt pretty confident I may be able to help because (cough splutter) I've been around for a while (hack, splutter splutter) but these don't even sound vaguely familiar to me. Hopefully someone else will recognise them.

I sure hope to find out who it is, so I can listen without all the sputters, and zill playing over the music.

The unknown I don't recognize at all. The second unknown is exactly the type of music that they used to play for us in the Greek clubs. The only American artist that I know that recorded that type of music is Jimmy Linardos and you can't find it anymore. It's possible it's some other artist however but I've been searching for years for that type of music and I keep hitting a dead end. I'd be curious if someone can identify it.

Desparately still seeking music.

Well I can't id the Greek music for sure but when I listen to it, it sounds like your basic bouzoukee solo. So I can steer you towards something similar but not exact. I have a Leonardos Bournelis CD which sounds very similar. The one I have is 1970-1994. Most of his CD's are always out of stock as they are so popular. He is a well known Greek Bouzoukee player.
