Thread: Recommendations for slow, yet feisty music?

I'm looking for some new pieces of music and I particularly want to focus on getting some that are slow but powerful sounding. The model I'm thinking of is Natacha Atlas' cover of I Put a Spell on You, which is a song I actually love but absolutely *will not* use for performance because it is ridiculously over-exposed. ,s::

Howver, I would like to find some other pieces that create a similar, sulty, powerful vibe. I think that aspect of I Put a Spell on You that particularly appeals and that I would like to discover in other music is the fact that one can potentially dance to it in a very slow, smokin' way but that there is also that driving saidi beat that gives it real ooomph, if you take my meaning.

Anywhere else I can find this sort of thing? I'd prefer Arabic music, if possible.

How about Tahtiyb by World Tribe? Don't know if it's the exact mood you're looking for though.
