Music for 3-4 Minute "Routine?"
Hi -
Is there a favorite song you've used when you only have 3-4 minutes to perform (including the entrance), that features enough changes in the music to feel almost like a mini-"routine?"
Thanks for any recommendations!

3-4 minutes, jeez, soon we'll be asking each other if there's a good performance song 45 seconds or under....
However, there are many beautiful songs that would fit the bill. The best one I can think of off the top of my head right now is "Unveiled" from Angelika's CD "Angelika Unveiled". It's dynamic and even has a bit of a drum solo section in it.

I like classics, so my favorite is Alf Leyla Wa Lela, from Jalilah's first CD, cut down to about 4 minutes.
I think this is why Shik Shak Shok is so popular, frankly.

I like to use Zenobia's Dance on Horacio et Beata's Oriental Fantasy vol. 7
I cut the intro to have a length of 4:18.

Check out George Abdo's CDs. He recorded 3 or 4 instrumental fast-slow-fast routines.

Raks Musri by Abdo is like an under-3-minute mini-routine. It's a fun tune.

Raksat Mirfat, Mouna, and there's another routine like song on this CD
VOS 20022
Belly Dance with Hassan Abou Seoud Vol. 2
$17.99
Your search for Mona, the song made popular by the Sultans in the 80’s, is over. The original is back on this CD, plus popular hits like "Al Takieh", "Ah ya Zein", "Hawa Ya Hawa" and others. Hard to find, great arrangements. All tracks except two are 3:30 or under making them easy to work into any show.
