Thread: Hakim song- more detail

Hello- I am trying to track down a particular Hakim song that someone performed in one of my shows about three years ago. At the time I believe she told me it was on his 'Best of' album, but I think he has more than one of those as well as a Greatest hits album, which I don't want to get as it has a lot of songs I already own of his. I have tried finding sites with clips of his songs but still cannot find this darned song. All I can tell you is several times throughout he says something like "oo-wa, oo-wa-- oo-wa, oo-wa, but it is not the song 'la, la, la'.
Help! It's one my husband likes, so I'd like to provide him a copy of it.

Damn, I think I know which one you're talking about but I can't find it in my iTunes and I have to run to my show soon. I'll look some more when I get home!

Ok, I think it's Haboussou. It's on BDSS 3. In the chorus he does this "mmmm-ma *kiss* *kiss*, mmm-ma *kiss* *kiss*". If you don't have the cd, you can probably hear clips on Maqam.

Hi- no not Kolo...to be a little more detailed, it starts off with slightly less background music, and the first few lines end in ya-neh and ga-neh, then the louder music bursts on and many times throughout the chorus is...
heeeeeeeeeeeeeyyy, oo-wha, oo--wha, oo-wha, oo-wha (Hakim says oo-wha twice, then the background singers say it twice, then Hakim does again, then they do again, so it's 8 ooo-wha's in a row, and also the long heeeeeeeeeeyyy, happens several times. It's driving me crazy!

Ok, I just reread your description and so maybe this one isn't it either. But I just heard it while working out at the gym and made a mental note to post it when I got home. Is it Mawal el Sabr??
