Thread: Middle Eastern Music Ensembles?

I'm just curious, what universities in the States have an active Middle Eastern music ensemble? Has anyone had any experience with any of them? Have you been to a performance, performed with them, or have they offered any educational classes to the public? I know of a couple:UC Santa Barbara, UCLA University of Chicago,Harvard...

New England Conservatory did while Karim Nagi was teaching there, but he's on the road so much I don't know if that's still happening or not. I attended a couple of performances, and I know that they offered classes/membership to people not affiliated with NEC, as a couple of friends of mine participated.
