i love that costume too, especially the bottom of that skirt. i wonder if it could be as easy as just attaching a feather boa to the end of a wired hem skirt..? hmm...

Well, Haramet Ahebek is on the "Eyes of the Desert" CD and yes, it's Setrak, but he's not the singer, he's the drummer, but I don't think that is this version. I agree, this does sound like Alabina, but I don't know who the singer actually is. I'll search and see if Alabina did this song.

Yep, Alabina did a version of Harramt Ahebek but it is not this version. Her voice is a little different. I think it is the original Warda which is on Best Arabic Album in the World Ever. It's a good CD.

I have the version that Warda sings and it aint the one that's on the video - this version is a little more funky.

sorry for my ignorance, the way amazon had put it up confused me lol thanks for the correction. alabina did do this song but it's in spanish (at least that's all i heard from the excerpt that amazon had).

I haven't been able to listen to the clips. Did we decide who it is? I'm pretty sure it's not Setrak the drummer, Warda or even Alabinna. My 3favorite versions!

By the way you wouldn't need to sew the feather boa on a wired hem. Back in the late 90's that style was popular in Detroit. I never got a skirt myself as it didn't suit me and some people thought it resembled striptease. But the feathers were sewn on directly to a basic circle skirt. But her skirt looks like it is gored. Or like a big loose ruffle sewn on a panel skirt, then edge with the boa.

Have you ever heard the Greek version? It's flippin brilliant. Will root it out and stick it up on Bhuz - lyrics are different (aspro y mavro etc), but such a dramatic rearrangement of the piece - oooo must find it and post it .....

This is definitely a Jillina question because those are her girls and carousel is walking distance from my house - I remember that performance and I've seen that costume in person. But I'm no help on the singer =( My favorite version is Warda

Is it not the Setrak one, then? Because I listened to a clip of that one (from the Showtime! CD) and it sounded pretty close, but it was only a short clip.
