The actual name of the song is Loubat el houb. It's very old but there have been some modern remixes of it lately.

Re: Anyone know what song this is?
It's an Oum Khoulsoum song. It means Night of Love. I recently taught a choreo to it a workshop and had a more general translation for it but I'm drawing a blank right now.

Re: Anyone know what song this is?
This is beginning to bother me. I've known this song my entire dance career. When I first started dancing in the early 80's it was a very popular song. In the mid 80's, my teacher Princess Madiha produced a beginner video and her star student at the time was the very lovely Kaywakeb. Kaywakeb was the very first belly dancer I ever saw live in a nightclub and I credit her with my infatuation for belly dance!
So because of that, this song is near and dear to my heart. Madiha however, hated the song and never understood why her protege loved it so much.
Therefore, until tonight I've been hesitant to approach her about this song. A musician back in the 90's gave me a copy and called it Leilat el hoob. None of my arabic friends know what the word "leilat" is. I've asked several people, Egyptian, Palestinian, Syrian, a new source from Bahrain.
I finally called Madiha and she is literally on her way to the airport. She has promised me when she is home next week to pull out the song. I found it curious when I told her I just wanted to know the title she wouldn't commit. But she definitely knows the song. Stay tuned.
However, I do think it was a musical written for belly dancers and not a song with lyrics. That might explain why it's not well know to the general Arabic community.
I recently came across a really modern remix but that was given to me by a belly dancer who gave it to me in utmost secrecy. She was afraid to let dancers in her geographic area find out about the song so while she gave me the song she wouldn't tell me where she got it from. Most perplexing.
In my day job I work as an investigator so solving mysteries is my forte!!!!!

Re: Anyone know what song this is?
FINALLY AN ANSWER!!!!!!
Okay, Sumaya you owe me!!!! I had finally ask my ex-husband who already has a big head because he knows everything! At first, this even stumped him. He knew the song immediately but it took him half a day of singing it in his head before he came up with the answer.
While it is traditionally spelled Loubet el hoob or hobb. There is no such word in Arabic as Loubet. The sound is unknown in the English language. The closest he could describe it to me is lawbet el hobb. Lawbet meaning Toy. So the song is Toy of Love. It is a musical. There are no other lyrics.
Of course I didn't get into the discussion of does that mean the dancer is a love toy?????

Re: Anyone know what song this is?
Hee Hee. Anyway, I just found out that it is more accurate translation is game of love. Here's an explanation by my friend Adel:
le3ba= (noun) "a toy"
le3b= (verb) to play..... a slight variation of this word pronounced slightly differently can mean "many toys"
le3bet= (possive of the noun toy) "the toy of" OR (noun= the act of) "the playing of" = "the games of"
I would bet that the lyrics if found would indicate that the song is about the games of love and courtship. Accordingly my guess would be:
le3bet el hob= the playing of the love= the game of love
obvious examples= flirting, teasing, playing hard to get etc....
