Thread: Where do I get the great big Sagat?

Karim Nagi had some that were about 4" across this weeked and I'd really like a set. Anybody know where to get them?

I wondered that myself! I know they are sold as musician sagat rather than dancer sagat, so maybe one of the musical supply companies from Egypt would have them?

They are called toura in Egypt and they sell them at Gawaharet el Fan: gawahart el fan the website isn't great, but they have a big store on Mohamed Ali Street...I was going to get a pair, but apparently the professionals get theirs hand crafted and I didn't have time for that by the time I realized that's what I wanted to do.

Maybe some of our bhuzzers in Cairo can give some resources?

So i found some 3 1/2 inch or so at a percussion site. Can't think of the name right now, but they were really inexpensive. Supposed to get them by Monday. If they're good, I'll post a link to their website.
