Looking for a kick ass drum solo!
I have dozens of drum solo's but I can't really find what I looking for this time. None of them give me the eureka-feeling.
It would need to have a lot of variation (some sharp accents, some regular rhythm, some rolls, a short ayoub bit or some general earthy section would be a definite plus!).
Some, but no overpowering bells and whistles in the background. The tricky bit... a maximum length of 3:30, and it has to bring me my slippers and a glass of wine when I'm watching TV ..l;,
Ideas?

I am probably preaching to the choir but I love all of Adam Basma's drum solos. But I'm sure you're already familiar with them.
Paul Dinletir has a drum solo called "Hipalicious" that has an Ayoub, as well as a shimmy solo in the middle and then a fantastic finish at the end. BTW, I use this one quite frequently

I think Khamis Henkesh has a fabulous drive in his tabla solos.

Hipalicious would be great but I learnt Sonia's choreography in a workshop and it's chiseled in my brain!
I have the other suggestions, I'll give them another listen! Thanks!
Other ideas still welcome!

"Hizzy" from the album "Casbah Bellydance" is 3:23. No earthy section, though.

on Dr Samy Faraqs Dunia El Raks song Heia Heia at the 5:50 time mark starts a drum solo that has lots of shimmies and some cool accents. All of his longer pieces have drum solos.. just takes editting

I think I just got the eureka feeling with Issam's Karsihlagala, it's easy to edit it down to about 3:20.
Thanks all so much for your help, I've got a couple of new yummy drum solos to munch on now!

Tooting my own horn or beating my own tabla - "Leyla's Music" 12-minute dance routine on my CD "Golden Days, Enchanting Nights" has a percussion ensemble section with a hot Egyptian drummer on the tabla. It's 4 minutes, but can be edited.

'Shimmabulous' actually, which is on Issam's Dancing drum CD. Hipaliscious is the same drumsolo, only slightly shorter.

I have "Art of the Drum Solo" by Sonia and Issam. I'm not sure if this is the song but the video is great, especially if you are just learning to do drum solos. I will have to look at the accompanying CD to see if it is on there because I didn't know that either .w.:
