I have more than one! ..g.:

I am using Outi's CD & Yasmina of Cairo's new one Aheb Masr a lot for my oriental. Plus I just bought The Soul of Cairo which is really good too. I also like quite a few tracks on the BDSS 3.

I've just come back from New York where I spent nearly $200 on music at Rashid's! No, I couldn't believe it either, but all those goodies in one place - it was just too tempting! It was a real mixed bag styles-wise and I've haven't listened to them all yet, but there are bound to be some new favourites amongst those too! It was really good for my plastic that he'd just come back from trading at a big festival and had sold out on a few titles, otherwise the bill may have been even higher!

hmmmm, this is always hard because I listen to so much stuff that is all mixed together . . . lots brought back from Egypt this year.

What is in the CD changer in my car right now along with all that mixed up stuff (which includes Saad of course)???? Leila's and Outi's CDs . . . I need to get Yasmina's maybe, LOL!!!

The other standouts for now are Hamada Helal (Waheshni) and Marwa (Ama Naeema) and Baha Sultan (Oom Oaf) . . maybe not the latest but stuff I like!

Also, Amy Winehouse . . . REHAB!!! But i haven't figured out how to dance in a show to any of her music, hehe.

RE: Rashid's . . . I can spend a lot of money and not even visit the store . . . I bought some CDs and DVDs recently . . . I love to watch old Egyptian movies.

I just got the CD advertised in the retail swap meet, Zikrayat - "Live at Lotus" and it's definitely going to be a favorite.

Also, the CD with the grapes song on it, the one everybody came back from Fifi raving about.

The reason it is so hard to pick just "one" . . . I really like Jalilah's stuff and obsessively played the first 3 vols for quite awhile. Sounds like time to burn new ones for the CD changer!

I have another one (or two or three, lol) that I love to use at home when teaching: "Ahla Leila" and "Cafe Hookah" and Hossam Ramzy's "Best of Baladi and Saidi" Plus "Baladi Plus"

Ah, Hossam Ramzys Baladi Plus. Really good for the class. And the Jalilahs are also classics.

So much good music and so less money to buy

soul of cairo is nice too!
I obsessively buy music, (not just bd music) now that I have an ipod, I've been downloading and re-selling my cd's.
However, I just did a MAJOR CD blow-out, keeping only my fav's, and rare ones, and the re-issues of the old 70's ones, those covers! priceless. (which seems to be at least over 100!)
I also inherited lots of old albums and books, which I'm keeping.
So, stay tuned, in another year or so, I'll probably have another major CD blowout!
I may need another ipod by then too!
