Thread: What new dance CD are you loving lately?

What bd-related CD are you listening to these days? Shake me up with some good music recommendations! I feel like I'm in a rut. ..g.:

I went to a Raquy and the Cavemen show a few months ago and got their latest cd Bewitched. I love it, especially the song Dahlradia. There are sound clips on their website:

I like traditional egyptian style so right now, I tend to listen to Leila's Om'al Dunya and Yasmina's El Warda.

I am also happy with Oum Kalsoum for Dancers Prime cuts.

On a whim I downloaded "Belly Dance with Farouk Salameh" from Maqam's new download site and I'm loving it--it's good baladi fun, along the lines of Samy Ali or Gizira Band's baladi stuff, though not quite as cheesy as the latter.

Where did you guys buy Yasmina's new CD and Outi's new CD? I didn't see them on Dahlal or Amazon, etc.

Yasmina has her music now in Hollywood Music Center. My music you can get from Alladdin's Cave or Studio Henna (on this side of Atlantic - sorry). More info for my music on my website.

I recently purchased Outi's CDs and Leila's and they are fabbo...highly recommend.

Don't have Yasmina's yet but I am sure her latest will be up to the usual very high standard so I can't wait to get a copy

Right now listening to Earth Beats and Djinn's the Silent D. Lately, even though its not "new", I've been revisiting Maduro's Shimmer Sustain. That's a yummy CD and my favorite one by Maduro.

I ordered two more of Eddie Kochak's Strictly Bellydancing CDs that I should get in the mail today.

Those vintage CDs are my favorites.

Wow, thanks for the tip on Ruby--just listened to some samples and will be downloading it as soon as my emusic account refreshes!

It might be hard to find something free since you would use it for commercial purposes. But you never know! Search for "mp3 flash player".

If you ever want to offer your CDs in download form, but don't want to use the big companies, let me know. I would LOVE to host albums such as yours on BellydanceDownloads.com. I currently only have links on the site, but would like to expand it to host specialty albums. (My husband and I operate Ambient.us, so we have years of experience with doing this. And we offer VERY high sound quality with the downloads.) Keep it in mind - I'm sure there are many, many dancers worldwide who would love to buy your music in download form.

I can't stop listening to the new Fadl Shaker CD "Baada Al Bal"...there's no less than 4 tracks on there I want to dance with, but I lovelovelove the whole thing.

Mera - Sandstorm. Super fluff-n-cheese but oh so fun to dance to. I found it at a thrift store I discovered recently that sells books and music with a good selection of bellydance, middle eastern, greek, lebanese music. Well... it did have a good selection until I bought most of it.

Also OFT's One Truth.

I've gotta get the new Hossam Ramzy everyone raves about it!!

One more thumbs up for "Ruby". I just downloaded it. Every song is like a mini-routine and its as classic as it can get for original contemporary composition.
