Hey that's cool and thanks for posting the link. I actually got to see this show at club makan while I was in Cairo. It was very fascinating and I have some pictures of the lead singer, although they didn't turn out too good. I think my room mate might have taken some video. I'll have to find out...

I wonder if the Egyptians at the club see this as performance or ritual, or something in between.

This is exactly why it's dying out. Soon it will be just like Flamenco. *poof* I don't know what they're showing in that night club but I really doubt it's what it claims to be. I could be wrong. I would love to see any photos somebody might have from seeing the "Show."
