Thread: Halloween "theme" music

Hey everyone. Is anyone or has anyone danced to halloween theme music for a show/hafla other than I Put A Spell On You? I'm lookin for ideas. The song I wanted to do is taken (Black Magic Woman).

I did veil at a Halloween hafla to "I'm Under Your Spell" from the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The character singing it is a witch, so there's lot's of lyrics about magic, charms etc.

How about "witchcraft"? Originally by Frank SInatra, but his version is a little slow, but you can find other versions of it. Here's a datbase for re-makes of that song

I like the Steve Tyrell version the best.

Get some spooky movie soundtrack music; something from Poltergiest, Nightmare on Elm St., etc, will have a great, suspense filled melody that you could use to do candles, or a moody veil routine.

(bummer, I was going to say Black Magic Woman; how about Spooky by Dusty Springfield if your feeling retro? Grim Grinning Ghosts, the Bare Naked Ladies version if you wanna go way out there...)

Type O Negative's 'Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare All). Awesome Halloween song, the lead singer Peter Steel actually says "Happy Halloween" in it as well as mentioning Lily Munster, among other things. It would be my top Halloween sword dance song if I were to do one.

Shane MacGowan and the Pogues "Turkish Song of the Damned". Not that anyone that doesn't know it will understand the lyrics, but if you get a Pogue fan in the audience he'll love it. I do this as a pirate. It's got dead ones.....

All these are such great songs, that Wonder Woman song is fun.
You know what I really like about the Beetlejuice theme is its got lots of musical changes and no singing. In fact, I think most music by Danny Elfman is brilliant. He's been composer for such popular movies such as; Tales from the Crypt, Batman, Beetlejuice, Pyscho, Corpse Bride, Charlotte's Web, Spiderman, Sleepy Hollow....and the list goes on and on including my all time favorite ...Chicago! How much fun it would be to do "When you're good to Ma Ma" or "All that Jazz" dressed up like a 1920's flapper girl. Again, lots of musical changes and opportunity to incorporate a prop like a feather boa or fan.
