Zurna is the loud double-reed folk instrument played in Turkey, N. Africa, Egypt. It said to be the ancestor of the modern oboe and to induce states of ecstasy. Either that or people hate it! LOL. The Master Musicians of Jajouka have a zurna orchestra - many many zurnas playing at once, with drumming. Great for trancing and dancing. I almost left my body when I heard them play live years ago. So I'm a zurna lover.
There is a zurna track on Tribalation! by Americanistan. It is Track 6, "Celebration." You can see it and hear it here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/americanistan
You can also download the track on iTunes.
There are also two mijwiz tracks on this CD, Track 1, "Tribalation!" and Track 8, "Peak."
Mijwiz is a double-chambered, double-reed folk instrument also played in Egypt and N. Africa.
