Halloween music suggestions..."Dark" drum solo?
Hello!
I am doing a Halloween Hafla show in EARLY October (music is already due I believe...)
I was going to do a regular drum solo...but now I see the music lists and EVERYONE is doing "Halloweenie" music.
I *really* don't feel like doing any "typical" dark music like Marilyn Manson, etc...
And I don't really want it to be slow and creepy.
Everyone else will be Tribal and I want to keep Caberet!
I would just LOVE to find something like a "dark" drum solo...with more deep deep low beats or darker sounding instruments or singing...or any type of more "tranditional" music but with a deeper/darker FEEL...
Any suggestions???
Thanks lovelies!
(: Lia :)

I'd try Solace.

Devil and the Dancer has some great tracks -- the title track actually has a moment of glass breaking and a woman screaming!

Vas has a great drum piece on their CD In the Garden of Souls. The track is called Ceromony of Passage. I it is the 4th cut on the CD. Really heavy, deep sounding drums. It is 3:44 long.
Aside from that, I love to use Chicky, and Shakiras Eye like Yours. Evenescense is also good. Halloween is time to have fun.

Djinn's Double Doum Drum Solo is a good one....starts out real funky and darkish I think.

There's a drum solo on Margo Abdo O'Dell's video Tajdeed that has a spooky quality to it. It's from one of Setrak Sarkissian's CD's, but unfortunately I don't know which one. If you know anyone with Setrak CD's you can borrow, maybe you can find out which one it's on. Sorry I can't be more specific!

Yes, I love Hossam Ramzy's Halloween- used it for the group jam at the end of my Halloween show last year- it's great!! There is a very slow drum solo I'm thinking of that's not coming to mind at the moment-- if it doesn't have to be a drum solo then 'Sword Dance' from Light Rain is cool and spooky. I'll be back with others later.
