Thread: Cutting and fading a song

I have itunes and I know how to cut the song BUT it just ends How do you fade out the song?? What programs and where do you get them?

Audacity is free and supposedly can do this, though I've never done it.

My sig. other is a musician and we use Cakewalk, you can edit the song, make it shorter if you need to, blend two in a mash-up, fade out and all sorts of neat things! I think it is about $40, and at first it is a little tricky, but it is REALLY awesome when you get used to how it works!

Worth the $40 and a bit of study to have this program.

I use Audacity for this for all the time, it's quite easy. There's a "fade out" tool. You just select the section of music at the end that you want to fade and then click "fade out".

Audacity gives you the choice of fade or cross fade. It's free but you do have to download two things (didn't know about that the first time).

Also, make changes to a copy of the song, not the actual song.
