Thread: Talk to me about Zeina

I'm really, really into Zeina at the moment, as in the Mohammed Abdul Wahab tune. This one to clarify:

I'm spending a lot of time listening to it right now and there seems to be a saidi rhythm in the main 'Zeina' sections, but I seem to remember someone mentioning that there was an Ayoub section.

Can anyone clarify for me?

Also any other general pointers and observations would be great - I always do a lot of research on anything that I'm thinking of performing to but am terrified of missing some vital element

Definitely look at how other dancers performed to this song. I always find it interesting to see how different dancers interpret a particular song, like Zeina. I performed to this song...it's on youtube!

What's nice about the ayoub section is that you can dance on the ayoub, the melody or both. I usually opt for both.

The core rhythm is Baladi. Then at the bridge it is ayoub.
