Whatcha got? Different versions of popular songs

Looking for your input for different versions of popular songs. A while back, I started a compilation of these; began with Aziza, Laylet Hob, Tamr Henna, Habibi Ya Eini, Layla (Leyla, Leila), Bir Demet...; ones that I already had in multiples. I wanted to give examples in class & troupe, and just because I like doing that sort of thing, & planned to attach list of composer, artist, where available, translation, etc. Since I don't burn copies anymore to give out, I want to make a list & set up on Kiyanna's site:
    BellydanceDownloads.com - Songs.
So whatcha got? thanks in advance!
    Liesa

I did a class topic like that last session and it went over great. We listened to the different versions and talked about where the differences were in musical arrangement and overall feel, and how you would adjust your dancing to reflect that. It's good stuff!

I've done this for students; I find it helps them learn to improv!l

Many multiples of Ah Ya Zein, Zeina, Ya Mustapah, Mserlou, Siseler

I can't wait to check out your list!

Re: Whatcha got? Different versions of popular songs

A while back I came across this online, maybe someone on Bhuz shared the link? http://cerice-janan.com/Songs%20Ever...uld%20Know.pdf

I was thinking it would be really great to have a collaborative spreadsheet, maybe through Google docs, where several of us could keep adding versions as we find them. I'm trying to do this with the songs on BellydanceDownloads.com, of course, but it's hard to keep up! Plus there are those pesky tracks that have different names from what you normally know the song by.
