    Versions of "Ay Ya Zein"?

    Hi!
Besides Desert Knights album (Desert Nights), which other versions of "Ay Ya Zein" can I find?
    Thanks,
    Ana

I am in love with the version on the "A Night at The Harem" cd, "Ah Ya Zein" is by The Gizira Band - about 4 1/2 minutes, with enough musical changes for a mini-routine. Available on iTunes, a must-have!

And, in addition to Kiyaana's list, I have versions by Turku (under Muhabbet), Omar Khorshid (very cool e-guitar), Brothers of the Baladi, Eddie Kochak (always fabulous), and John B. (can't spell his name, always good), and Hagopian (also under the title Muhabbet). I must a few more floating around, but those are all great artists to check out - each one different, each one good choice for different reasons.

Scott Wilson also has a great version that ends with a mini drum solo.

One of my favorite songs! If you'd like to try something a little different, there is a version by Alabina (on their album "The Album") that is listed as "Yo Te Vi (Ah Ya Zein)," sung in a mixture of Arabic and Spanish. Absolute perfection for anyone wanting to do a belly dance/flamenco fusion.

Saroyan on "An Orientale Bouquet". The one that I first learned!

I choreographed a group to the techno version on Beirut Underground; it's a hoot.

There's also a version on Oojami's 'Urban Dervish' CD, or the melody is woven into another song...can't remember the track name...quick google, think it's 'Ararim' :-)

Anyone mention the "Remix" version on Soul of Cairo? It's jammin'.
