Thread: Oriental Songs with Samai?

I'm sorry, I'm being annoying but any suggestions?

I've heard quite a few oriental songs with some pretty samai thaquil sections but I don't know the name of any them...


Also, I was listening to a version of enta omri a couple of weeks back and it sounded like the the beginning was samai unless I've totally gone crazy.

Darb El Howa from Nourhan Sharif's Raks Sharqi Vol 3 has a good minute of samai about 2mins in, the whole song is about 5:30. Really nice composition.

Escape from Cairo, by Mohammad al Hassan. there's a shorter cut of this on a BDSS album, that i dont know whether it's has the samai section, but the original does.

interesting, I'm pretty sure I have both versions.
that song has the "waltz" right and not the 10/8 samai? correct me if I'm wrong

I have the version on the master of egyptian bellydance cd and the version on bdss vol 5
are these the two versions you are talking about?

For me, Samai = Lamma Bada
