I know it's set al hosen, but does anyone know whose version this is? i really like it. The only version i have is Adam Basma's, and i really like it for some things, but i sometimes i wish it were a bit less synthesized.
anyone?

I don't know who makes this version but the Dunia El Raks album has one much less synthesized-my favorite version

It sounds familar, and I'm thinking it may be from the Jalilah Stars of the casino opera, not sure. But I am sure that she should have NOT done the Turkish drop with her crotch to the audience. That's tacky. I will check my vast music collection to see if I have that piece of music.

It's not this piece, but Ibrahim El Samahy's old Kollection for Karen had a good version.

Oh, and there was a nice version of Andah Aleik, as I recall. Or Under a Lake as we used to call it. I only had it on cassette, so can't do a sample.
I remember Shareen El Safy had a workshop piece to Set El Hosen. It was a nice Egyptian piece. I'm sure she'd tell you what it was if you dropped her a line.Last edited by dancingrrrlz; 09-21-2007 at 06:56 PM.

The only "Set Al Hosen" number I have is from the "Princess of Cairo" cd and that's not it.

i've heard that version, and i don't think it's the same. but i LOVE that i have access to bellydancers all over the world to find out where i can get a song. I couldn't do this 5 years ago. i would have just had to live without it.
which makes me think.... maybe i should just email her.
Does anyone speak Hungarian?

Former SF Bay Area dancer Adry Svraka might be able to help you. Lived in Hungary until her teens. May be there now?
