There's a nice one on Sayed Balaha's "Hamada"

There's also another version (different section of the song) on Oriental Fantasy: Flowers of the Orient

I'm working on a solo to Georges Lammam's version of Fe yom wi leyla. It's beautiful, but a different section of the song than Jalilah's Gipsy dancer version and has a totally different mood and feel to it. I love it because it's played with very small ensembe: just violin, drum, oud, and ney I think.

Horacio and Beata Cifuentes have a lovely version on one of their CDs and I seem to have acquired a live version done by Warda but that is not so great quality.

I love the Warda one...You are right about the quality though. It's on a double CD that I found at Amoeba music in LA...

    Hi there!

Warda's version is the original version so I would agree with Ejaghana choice. To me her voice is very soulful & the double CD collection (her greatest hits, is one of my fave collections) that I acquired from Rashid music is very nice studio recording quality -not a live concert version.

I think one of Sahra Kent's CD collections also has a nice version too...

Is this on iTunes? I can't find any reference to it on his website or on Google.

Third one down on the page, Fyom Weleleh. The problem may be with phonetic spelling.

    Ok, thanks.

It's very different than what's on Jalilah's album. I was expecting to hear something like this.

You want the Hamada version from Sayed Balaha. There's also another version out there from a CD with Zaheea on the cover, but the sound quality is not very good as I believe it was recorded from a video. However, it's a GREAT version of the song.

    I'll look for the CD.

Okay, I found the CD, it's titled "Belly Dance Nightclub" and it has a picture of Zaheea on the cover in a turquoise Sim Moda Evi.

That's the same version that Samara dances to on one of the vhs videos I have. GREAT version, poor sound quality.

If this link works, it'll take you to the CD I'm talking about. If not, go to www.pekorecords.com and search for "Belly Dance Nightclub."

Here's the same CD on Maqam.com. It's supposed to have sound clips, but they are not working for me.
