Does anyone know the name of this song? It reminds me a lot of Shar El Asal, which is in this clip. But the instrumentation is so different, I'm thinking it is a different song altogether?

I *think* it's called something like Arousti and I think maybe I read that on Bhuz a fair while back, but can't be sure!

Thanks I see Shar El Asal is on the list too (Shaher Assal). I didn't know that was a Nagwa Fouad song. I'd like to see a clip of that.

I think I know why I got the two confused. I'm pretty sure I had both of these songs on the same cassette. I remember her telling me about Arousti, but the song I used from the cassette was Shar El Asal.

It is Arousti! One of my favorite pieces.

And just being a belly dance geek, the pieces were written by Mohamed Sultan. If you can find it, there is a CD called The Best Belly Dancer - Nagwa Fouad which has Arousti, Shahr Il'asl, Set el hosen, and other songs I assumed he composed for her.

That's great that they have the songs off the CD as mp3s as once I bought it I've never seen the CD anywhere else!

I wish they put up the version of Ali lawz sung by Fatima Eid and the guy (don't know his name). I have the original version on tape which I bought many years ago but would love a good quality version. Considering how much music was composed for her would have thought more of it would be available! And the Fatme Serhan song that she dances to later from that video, would love a good quality version of that as well.

I do like the song and clip of Aroussti, I believe aroussa is the bride, I think Aroussti is my bride.
