Suheir Zaki version of Shik Shak Shok 1979?

Does any have, or know where I can get, a copy of Shik Shak Shok as in the YouTube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awHApfSHg6E? Or any version approximating it? I love the way she dances so gracefully to a tune that normally incites a mad frenzy, and I would like too perform it in a similar way (falling far short of course)
Thanks Bhuzzers fro any help you can offer!

I think that version, or something very similar, can be found in the Voice of Stars CD series
Sabrina Bellydancer, San Diego, California. Available worldwide. Workshops. Shows.

I like the version on the album Shik Shak Shok. It has that 70's vibe. It is 4:37.

    There's a version o Masters of Belly Dance Vol 2, 5:33.

Aren't those two versions and the one on "10 Songs" edits of the same master? They're all credited to Hassan Abou al-Seoud, and I'm thinking there has to be another musician in the mix of that film clip. I don't recall Hassan Abou al-Seoud ever using a space-age arrangement like that on his own. As Sabrina mentioned, Daniel der Sahakian did have his hands on the song at one point, and he's a strong candidate for creating that sort of sound.

Dunno. All I can find is that Fouad al-Zaherri is credited for the soundtrack of the movie the clip came from.

Sorry can't help. Just wanted to say that the first time I saw Suheir Zaki performing to this song I was awestruck. It usually brings out a wide variety of cutesy accents and a hyper speeds in other dancers.

Does this lady ever do anything without class and grace? I can only aspire to be a fraction of the dancer that she is.

According to my CD: Shik Shak Shok, A Daniel Der Sahakian Production, Voice of The Stars: Belly Dance with Hassan Abou Seoud, New Remix. It is 4:37 in length. This is the version that sounds like the one in the clips. It's got that screaming keyboard that you hear at :21 in the clip where SZ is wearing blue.

The version on Masters of Belly Dance Volume two is slightly different and is 5:35 in length.

I always think of Shareen el Safy's version - no hyper speed to be seen.

Norma, can I ask where you got this CD? I used to have this version on a cassette tape, but I must have lost it during a move. I haven't been able to find it on CD anywhere, I thought it must be out of print. I don't care for the new version of Shik Shak Shok that's floating around now.

Can I tag along in this thread to ask some of the opinions of the Karim Slaoui version from the Whatever Lola Wants soundtrack?

(Karim Slaoui is credited, so if I'm wrong please correct)

It sounds like a hybrid of the Suheir versions, with that organ-y part, but the pace is a little faster.

I'd post a link but as I am without a sound card at the moment, I cannot be sure I am posting the right one (from youtube, anyway).

I just have to say thank you for posting that clip....that is the first version of Shik Shak Shok that I LIKE!!! All I have are contemporary versions and I really don't care for the hyper-ness of them. I'm still trying to collect all the Daniel Sarhakian CD's but they are hard to find.

I've gotten all of my VOS CD's from Dahlal. I have most of them, but still a few missing from my collection.
