    Baladi meets Bach?

OK - the title makes it sound strange... but...

The lovely Ahava performed to an accordion baladi that borrowed a little bit of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Does anyone know which one this is? It was awesome... and Ahava dancing to it was awesome.

    Thanks!

Sounds similar to the vivaldi+arabic percussion piece I've danced to by Karim Nagi. I'd start there in your search. :)

Yeah - it wasn't a classical mash-up or anything like that. The accordion player just referenced tthe fugue towards the middle of the baladi progression.

    Tip of an "oldie but goodie"that´s related to topic:"Mozart l'Égyptien 1 & 2 "CD:s:-)

    I made a choreo;so far my only one using wings-for a student:
a "theatrical"piece (to use for a western audience) to La Reine Des Mille Et Une Nuits(The Queen of 1000 and One Nights,an "orientalized"version of the vengeful "Queen of the Night"-aria)

    Live version:

I got Mozart L'Egyptien Vol. 1 from Emusic. Not sure what effect copyright arrangements have on the availability outside of the US, of course.
