Post more and people will visit you out of curiousity... Why is it important that people visit?

Yup, I agree with Azhia. Sometimes, I start a new thread then all dancers around the world visit my page out of curiosity to find out who I am and even my preference of dancing music.

Sometimes, I get anonymous profile pics too so I decided to add an avatar of the real me as the profile pic.

I don't quite understand what's so wrong with not having a profile pic. You can roll over the Bhuz icon that shows up when someone who doesn't have a pic visits your page, and that tells you their username. Or you can click on it to go to their profile page. So it's not like no pic=oooooo sock puppet stalking you!!!

I choose not to have a profile picture...so what? There are quite a number of frequent posters who also choose not to have a pic.

It took me 3 times to shrink my own picture to smaller than 120x120. Resolution at 72 already and then shrinking it further 2 more times.

I did want to post a recent pic of myself though as I'm no longer shy.

Maybe technical difficulties or shyness for other dancers?

For those of us who are technically challenged it's sometimes hard to figure out how to get the pics that small. it took me forever and I couldn't even talk me husband into doing it for me. He's a computer teacher! Men......

I've tried a million times to shrink a picture, but it's never small enough! I finally gave up -- but I get lots of visitors without pics & am not sure why you're concerned -- even those of us who don't have a profile pic post other pics of us in threads, like the Swap Meet, so we're not exactly faceless, LOL! Guess I'd better not "visit"! .w.:..l;,

There are some people who have internet stalkers and the like who have to be very careful about any online posting or networking, putting up pics, etc.

Yeah I forgot about the miniaturization factor ..l;, and Bhuz isn't the easiest of sites to deal with. Maybe they could offer a gallery of tiny bellydancer images people could use, at least it would be something -

It took me FOREVER to figure out how to shrink a picture so that I could upload it as my avatar! How embarrasing..w.: I just figured it out last night...soooo....now I feel silly that i couldn't figure it out...but happy that I'm no longer faceless. ,r:; I used iResize.com - Free Web Image Resizer to shrink one of my pictures...you don't have to download anything, and it erases your pic from their site after 20 seconds (I think), or something like that.

I have A profile pic haha! I can't find a photo that small nor can o figure out how to resize them, not a sock puppet in fact I've met you in person a few time :-D

Thanks for the tips on resizing! The pic I have up is the only one that would "go" despite trying others that seemed way smaller! I'll have to try again or take Anala up on her kind offer.

Sorry, I am guilty of doing this - examples are when someone is holding an event and I look to learn more about it or them, or when I see a costume for sale with no body pic and wonder if they have other photos that give me an idea whether their body type may be similar to mine. I always feel awkward knowing I've left my anonymous icon behind and may appear to be a stalker, lol. I'm one of those who doesn't have any great photos in costume, maybe I should consider it an act of politeness to at least put something up there, especially after seeing this thread.

Lol I don't have a pic either I tried too put one and it told me it was too big soooo ..... I gave up not thinking that others would be bothered by it??? I guess I thought well people use random names and anyone can post a a picture of anything or someone else I think as long as you respect others are honest sellers and buyers that it's your username will validate you and keep you in good graces with others not that people would think your a stalker ( although I do stalk the swapmeet way too much =D) alot of belly dancers have websites that have their photos and info about them and those websites are available to anyone???!! This is just my .02$ = D I think bhuz is great it unites bellydancers it's kinda like the bellydancers club=D happy shimmying!!!!!!
