Thread: Which sections are private?

Anyone can see the headers, but you shouldn't be able to open the individual threads on "off topic" and the student/teacher areas. So if you posted, "I'm so bummed about my day job with Specific Company" in "off topic", it'll show on the front page (under new threads) with your name on it until it drops off. Also, the thread title will be visible in the Off Topic forum with your name on it, until someone makes a second post, then the last person's name will be visible from the forum screen to non-members.

I think it's probably best never to think of any area of Bhuz as private... we tend to think of Bhuz as a tight community of the few members who post regularly, but there are THOUSANDS of lurkers who read regularly and never post. And of course anyone (your boss, your ex, your potential employer) can easily create a login without giving their real name and read anything you've ever posted.

But there are some topic areas that turn up in google searches and some that aren't supposed to, I think.

Oh, I don't really think of anything on here as private, just was curious about the closed-or-open forums. Thanks for the info!
