Thread: On the prowl for projects

What I'm looking for:

Once pretty costumes that run down, beat down, beads fading or falling off, no lining, stained, etc. Or something plain that can be jazzed up.

What I'm not looking for:

Self-made costumes (which can be beautiful, but it's just not what I'm looking for) or anything in the triple digits, or the Turkish deep V styles.

I want to make things pretty again! I hope to find some goodies.

I have an animal print mini costume that I was going to attach to a chiffon circle skirt or make it work somehow. I believe the person who originally sold it made it herself but I think she makes her own costumes regularly because it's in great shape. only $70

i have this classy number. The costume bra is "vintage" was my mothers when she was my age. The skirt i found at a bellydance store and matches perfectly. its in great condition and could be worn as is or you can change it. Would be asking $125 including shipping. The bra is completely covered in sequins.small size1.jpg

I have a silver swirls set that I really want to get rid of. Some of the fringe started to come off as soon as I got home from purchasing it
I wore it only once, don't plan on wearing again because it was poorly constructed and because, well... everyone and their mother has a swirls set. Let me know if it might interest you.

I have a gorgeous blue pharonics crochet/beaded set that just needs more work than I have time to put into it right now- mostly because the real work needs to be in fixing snags in the crochet work to keep things from running & losing beads. The cups also need reshaping and the lining could stand to be replaced. I bought this thinking it was in MUCH better condition than it was and paid way too much- willing to take a loss because I think it is only worth about $100 as is, but you really do have to be willing to fix the crochet (not my strong point!)

Cup measurements are Horizontally 6,5", vertically 5,5" and diagonally 7".
