Thread: Need another costume! 36D, 35"upper hip

A few months ago, the restaurant that I work at was cancelling a lot of their shows, because they weren't busy enough. I was feeling pretty lucky if I danced there once a month. My costumes were enough! Now, they're a LOT busier- I haven't had a show cancelled since the first week of December (HOORAY!) and I'm dancing there 2-3 times a month, as well as other performances. I need to add at least 1 costume to my rotation.

I'm a 36D, with a 35" upper and 40" lower hip. I'm short (5'2") and usually wear skirts 35-36" (with shoes) if the skirt is fitted, 34" if it's not. If I buy something that's longer, it has to be hemmable. I have the "I've had babies" soft and squishy tummy, so most belts give me terrible muffin top. I look better in bra/skirts, although I do have 2 bra/belts that I really like, and so am willing to consider bra/belts.

I'm looking to expand my rainbow of colors in my wardrobe, so I am NOT interested in black, silver, turquoise/teal, or red. I also don't look good in white, lime green, or yellow. The colors that I would love the most are purple, dark blue, dark green, or hot pink. However, I'm definitely willing to look at others!

I am insanely picky, so please don't be offended if I pass on something. I've bought SO MANY costumes that don't look good on me, so I do have to be very picky.

I'd LOVE to see what you're selling!

I actually have something that is exactly what you describe as far as fit style and size. Not so much as far as copies. Its gold with a mix of the copies you said you laready have. I can se you pictures when I get home. Its a very affordable Egyptian.

I'm not sure if I've offered this one to you before or not, but just in case, I have this sapphire blue and silver set for sale. It comes with two skirts, one fitted and one full. You and I are very similar in measurements. I'm also 5'2" tall and have a 34.5" upper/ 38" lower hip. I'm a 36C bra, but this bra can fit up to a D cup.

Skirt Hips: 34-41 inches
Length: 34 inches

I have only worn the costume a couple of times, so it's in great shape, and it still looks new. It does have matching armbands, and a light pink chiffon veil that came with it. I would be asking $200, plus shipping.

Shahla- It's lovely, but I think it's too similar to one that I already have. I have a silver Sim bedlah with the big medallion in the center of the belt, and since this one has so much silver- I think that they're too similar. Thanks, though!

Thanks for the link! I miss my gold Great Loop. However, the bit that goes up in the center-front would be really unflattering on me. I'm considering ordering a Dahab- I should just bite the bullet and order it. I'm just afraid that as soon as I do, the absolute perfect costume will come up the next day.

I was thinking the Royal Blue for you. Yeah I totally understand! Good Luck.

I know you were talking about the royal blue. But it still has the bit that comes up in the center. The prices are great, and they look gorgeous- it just wouldn't work on my body, I think.

I know- I LOVE red! I'd totally get another one, except I just bought a red Arabesque skirt (if I keep it, it's WAY too long on my short little Hobbit legs), plus my red Bella. *sigh* I need to broaden my costume colors, although red costumes tend to be my favorites!

Bumping this up to see if there are any other costumes out there that might want to come and live at my house!

If I don't find something soon, I'm going to have to order one, because I simply need something new (preferably 2) in my costume rotation. I've gone from dancing once or twice a month to dancing 4 or 5 times a month lately- hooray! If I don't find something soon, there's a costume that I adore and could special-order from Bella. However, I'd rather not spend $90 shipping plus $45 wire transfer fee, plus wait a couple of months. As beautiful as it is, I'd rather find something already made that I could buy and have in a week or 2!
