Thread: I'm kind of interested in a new costume or possibly a trade - PLUS SIZE (16-18)

I need a new costume like I need a hole in the head, but the last time I performed I stared at my costume closet for like 20 minutes trying to figure out what to wear. I think it's time to rotate some things.

I wear a size 16-18 street clothes,
I'm 5'9
Under bust is 36, bra is 40D
I need 43 Upper Hip and 48 lower hip
39-40 in length is perfect.

I want a 2-piece lycra costume with high quality work in a jewel tone. No more bra and belts unless they are standouts. I prefer costumes without halter tops. Nothing more than $400 unless it is a wowzers.

Possible items for trade:
Orange Venus Pharaonics: I love this costume, but I haven't worn it in over a year. I feel like it makes my torso look short and it gives me a muffin top because I had to add extra elastic to make it fit.




Silver Dahab Designs: Another one that I love and don't want to part with, but it's not the best fit for my chest and it's not great for my skin tone either.




I will post quality, condition and detail measurements if you are interested in trading these. I don't really want to sell, I would rather trade.

Not really, I just thinking of a friend, she has always problem finding costumes her size. :)

The only that I have that it might fit you is a full costume, but it's a bra/belt, and I saw that you're not looking for something like that. :)

Andalee, that orange costume is beautiful. If I were you I'd keep it. Take off the drape hanging from the bottom of the bra. That is shortening your torso, then either had it or another piece of fringe to hang from the center of the bra.

As far as muffin top goes, you can always go old school and add some hip poufs. That always makes a waist look smaller too.

I'd snap up that orange costume in a New York second except for one small problem...

... I don't have the requisite anatomy for all of it!

Another trick which might help you to keep the orange is to take out the elastic from the hip and add non-stretch cotton tape instead. I find that causes much less muffin-top action on my hips as it doesn't need to be quite as tight to hold it on as well. Just means a bit more alteration when you change hip sizes (as I do frequently!)
