Hi, I'm a noob with some sequin dresses which could be scavenged for parts. I thought I would do it, but it turns out I'm afraid to cut into the fabric (it seems so, you know, permanent). I have a tiger dress, a royal blue dress (shirt pictured for color), a black dress with roses, and a hot fuchsia, heavily beaded and sequined dress. I also have an emerald green dress which is lovely, but not so heavily beaded. The bases of all these dresses are silk. Some are, of course, missing sequins, but they are all usable. I'm thinking $15 a piece for any that interest you. Most of the dresses are large, or plus size, so they offer plenty of fabric. Here are some pics. Let me know if you are interested.

I would have to see the others that are not pictured to say whether or not I'd want them but I do like the black w/the roses on it. I will PM you about it

Hey, sorry... I did not get the PM, but I will set aside the black and rose dress for you, brokentiles, and the tiger is all yours, JoLynn! I will commence to packaging dresses and taking pics of the others, as well. PM me as to how and where you would like them shipped, please. :-)

Re: ISO INEXPENSIVE projects from FREE-$50

Pardon my absence. I've just moved, and I wanted to locate and pull out all the dresses and get them photo'd and measured. As it is, I am still unable to locate a VERY nice blue and white asymmetrical beaded dress, and I can't find the black and rose dress (I had some older photos, and everything should have been in the same container, but it wasn't). I'm sorry brokentiles. Anyway, here is what I do have at this time. All measurements are approximate (measured flat, please double), in case someone would like to wear the dresses as is, but I think they would make good "cutters," or project bases. All are silk, escept the Cache bustier dress, some have rayon linings:

    1. Purple and black silk tiger dress- $20. Size 3X. A little more expensive due to its beauty, and the fact that it really does break my heart to let this go. A to A: 27". W 25". The body tapers in from there. Rounded hem, scalloped flutter sleeves.

    2. Gold and black Tiger Dress- 100% sequined -$15. Size M. A to A: 19". W: 16.5". H: 20"

    3. Champagne silk dress (rayon lining)- $15. Size 3X. A to A: 23". W: 20". H: 25".
This color is a bit boring, but I wanted to experiment with dye, as I KNOW the silk will take dye beautifully.

    4. Teal Royal Feelings top- 3X- $10. A to A:25"

    5. Emerald green flutter-bottom dress- $10. Exciting green beading and AB sequins, which I think would be set off with gold or orange. A to A: 18" W: 15.5". H 18". I thought the flutter bottom could be converted into an interesting asymmetrical sleeve.

    6. Black Cache bustier dress. Size 8- $15. Bustier could be easily cut from dress, as a friend of mine planned to do... A to A: 17". W 14". Peplumed hip. Some of the black outlining beads need to be tacked down, but could be a very attractive project base. Black lace overlay has a deep reddish brown hint to it, as well.

    7. Black and gold abstract beaded Royal Feelings set- $15. 100% silk. XL. Straight skirt 20" flat, with low slit. Pull-on top A to A: 21", slightly tapered.

NOTE: due to some type of Bhug from the last update, I am not yet getting PMs. I am working on this now, and hope to get it resolved soon. In the meantime, if it's OK, could you call dibs in the thread if you want anything? I'll be looking for the rose dress and the blue and white one, because that just bugs me. Lastly, these dresses are heavy, and I'm looking for the most economical way to ship them out...

Lastly, I need a fabric intervention.

Blue Stenay Dress, size 14- $15. Color is more of a royal, and the beading has AB tinges. A few beads are missing from the side, but all in all not a huge deal. Armpit to armpit: 20", Waist: 16. Hip 20".

Hey Sugar, no worries about the black w/rose dress. On the champagne/gold (#3) one is it beaded on both sides exactly the same? and if yo u have a chance could you flatten one of the sleeves (where the seam is on the underside so I can see what the beading looks like on them as well?

    Hi Brokentiles:

I have a bunch of left over fabric, I'm done with it, but I don't want to go to waste.

There's almost 2 yards of brown velvet, I have purples, turquoise, yellows, gold. Some are a yard and some others less than a yard.

I just need shipping. They'll fit in a large flat rate box

Let me know if you're interested.

    Thanks

Damn it, what size flat rate box we talking here (like I NEED more fabric)? Oh I just reread the post, duh, a large flat rate box. I know I am going to kick myself for this but I don't see anything in there that I need right now
