    ISO INEXPENSIVE projects from FREE-$50

I have another older thread that's just not bringing me anything so thought I'd start a new one in the ISO area:

Okay Ladies here's the perfect time to go through your projects. As I have mentioned before my pain tolerance for projects is FREE-$50 (I prefer the cheaper of course but sometimes we just dont get what we want, do we?).

    What I'm looking for:

~[/COLOR] Started projects that you KNOW you're never gonna finish or even start.

~ Old costumes that are beyond the wearing stage cause they are ratty or maybe you feel are a lost cause (I can always scavenge parts)

~ Old beaded dresses that you've purchased from the Thrift store thinking "That would make a great costume" and you still have it 4 years later (Yeah, you know the ones I mean).

~ I love red, blues, purples, black, brown, rust, olive green.
PALE COLORS, or pinks, yellows, oranges, most greens .... need NOT apply

    What I'm NOT looking for:

~ ANYTHING that you want more than $50 for. You may have paid more than that for it but if you haven't done anything with it in years, $50 for it is better than nothing and plus it's just taking up space in your closet.

~ Projects that look like a professional made it but you know you'll never finish it. I can't pay $400 for a project .... I just can't I know it's worth that, in time, supplies and sweat so I don't even want to go there. I make costumes too. No one knows how much of ourselves we put in these costumes.

~ Total junk, use your discretion, please.

Now lets get in there and look under your beds, closets, sewing rooms, where it is that you stash you stuff that you no longer have time for.

You can post here, PM me, or email me directly at brokentiles@yahoo.com make sure you post or send me pictures

I've got a black gypsy skirt which needs a whole new elastic band put in. $15-20. I have very little sewing skills and need to clean out the closet. Edna

Thanks Edna, but not much use for gypsy skirts in cabaret.

Oh! I have tons of old projects I'd like to let go of. I'll go through my closet tonight and send you some pics. Are you interested in fabric as well?

Depends on the fabric. I have a ROOM FULL OF FABRIC. As I mentioned to Qamar, I'm not a girlie girl so NO pinks, bright oranges (I do love rust though), yellows. I'm very pale so pale colors BAD.

Here is an overview picture of all the odds and ends I have right now that I know I won't finish or that I don't need. If there is anything you see you want more info for let me know. Nothing's over 40 bucks paypal fees included but not including shipping.

Briefly, there is a burgundy bedlah, a gold bra, a bag of harvested amber, brown, silver and light pink beads, a couple bags of desiccants for costume storage, a large pin of silvery stones and two small gold & purple beads. The bedlah and gold bra both fit me as a 34DD with a 37 upper hip, 40 lower hip. Both bras need new straps and lining.

Sorry about catching my shadow casting into the pic, photography is not my forte.

Re: ISO INEXPENSIVE projects from FREE-$50

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't give any price ranges! Here are my price estimates:

    gold bra $15

    burgundy bedlah $40

    bag of beads $5.00

    desiccants $3/bag

    silver pin $10

    purple beads $1 (for both)

If you want the whole pile, $70 and I would include paypal fees and shipping if you take all of it.

ETA: I forgot to add the belt for the burgundy bedlah needs a lining too, I had put new interfacing on, but never made linings since I never got around to redecorating the set.

ETA2: I have closer pics too if you want to see better detail, I just didn't want to clutter up your thread with a whole bunch of pics if you didn't see anything interesting.

I don't want the desiccants $3/bag cause I have no idea what that is or what it's for.

So can we do $65 for everything w/fees and shipping? Let me know

Sorry! Took me a while to get my act together, go through boxes & take pics etc. I have a lot in colors you don't want, like pink & green :-) so weeding those out. What's left, I put in an album, and they are:

1- A little over a full yard, plus scraps & the mermaid skirt I started, of red panne stretch velvet.

2 - One of those cheap Chinese Ebay costumes in black & silver. I thought it would make a good beginner/student costume. NOT pro quality, but has some sparkly sequins & beads I thought of cannibalizing (but never will.) No lining.

3 -A red bra & belt I started, covered with red velvet and sewed some pre-strung red bugle bead fringe onto. Started to decorate, changed my mind & ripped most everything off, so there are some loose threads & half the bead fringe is loose. No lining or anything.

4- A skirt made of a blue sari, that I bought from a friend but have nothing to wear with. The material is a vivid royal blue, which doesn't really come through in the picture. Gold metallic embroidery with little gold sequins, really sparkles under lights. Comes with 2 sleeves and a few extra scraps of material.

5- One of those cheap Egyptian "Icicles" style bedlahs in Gold. Started to tear apart to reuse the beads for my own gold bedlah for the blue skirt above. (Because the workmanship on these is so crappy, and they never fit right.) But again, never going to finish that project.

6 - A burgundy chiffon circle skirt (just 1 circle) and 3-yard veil, plus some extra scraps that I started to make a ruffled overskirt with (didn't work out.) Also a lightweight organza (I think that's what the shiny material is called?) skirt in the same shade of burgundy, that I was going to use as an underskirt.

    Rosalind's Album: stuff_to_sell

The bras are all about 32B and the belts/skirts about 34 inches around the UH. Maybe you could scrounge beads/fabric if the cossies themselves don't fit? If you want to take a chance on the whole shebang, I'll do $50 for the lot including shipping. Otherwise, pick whatever interests you (if anything) for $10 each.

    Thanks for looking!
    Rosalind
