Thread: Child's/young teen Saidi dress

My daughter and I are doing an adorable duet with assaya in June and I would like to get her a simple but appropriate Saidi dress. Mine is gold leopard print lycra but anything would be great, I can make it match:)

Anyone???

Do you sew? Because really, that's probably the simplest thing, if you sew (or her grandmother/aunt/best friend's mom sews).

I do sew actually.... but I have 2 problems...1) no pattern... and 2) no time...Working way too much and I am afraid I wouldn't finish it in time even if I found a pattern.

That does give me an idea though...I'll check in with Eshta she hooks me up with my costumes...maybe she can finnagle something fabulous for my Abby

Two rectangles for front and back, two smaller rectangles for sleeves. Just a big, long, drop shouldered T-shirt, and a sash or hipscarf. Voila. Loose fitting and cute and if you make it a bit too big and too long, you can take a deep tuck at the hips where you can let it down, so she can continue to wear it as she gets bigger.

I am selling some items for my friend who is small and just posted a black sleeveless L. Rose beledi dress with sweetheart necklinwith straight skirt that may fit. Add a hip scarf/belt and she would be ready to go.
