What's up with PayPal?
Is anyone else experiencing paypal trouble at the moment? As soon as I try to enter my username & password I get this message:
Secure Connection Failed
www.paypal.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate expired on 03/05/2009 00:59.
# This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
# If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.
Eep! ..c::..c::

Re: What's up with PayPal?
*Huge Sigh* Frankly, I wish I wasn't so dependent upon / relied so heavily on paypal, b/c lately it's always messing up on me!!! :(
I've had that same message before; it somehow rights itself after a while but such a hassle. I can't stand their stupid fees that they charge for providing sub-par service. But I don't know of any other similar service to switch to--do you? It's like they've got a monopoly on it for now

Re: What's up with PayPal?
How odd - I've used it twice today with no problems at all. Are you going to the page directly by typing it in? It sounds like the security certificate has expired, but I thought we would all get that message if that was the case.

Do you get the same error with a different browser? [Another not-a-computer-geek]

Thanks for the suggestion - yes, I just tried ie explorer (I usually use firefox) and I got this:

Re: What's up with PayPal?
Hi Sarahamh,
I just paid by Paypal a few minutes ago and there were no problems. Did you go to Google.com and entered paypal.com? It worked fine.
Just wondering if your computer has a firewall against Paypal or your network administor put a block on Paypal?

Re: What's up with PayPal?
I ALWAYS type www.paypal.com and not paypal.com... just to be on the safe side. This site always works for me - I've (knock on wood) never had a problem. Make sure you have malware app to ensure that there isn't any malicious apps running a muck on your workstation.

Re: What's up with PayPal?
Thanks guys....I'm getting really frustrated now lol I've been using paypal a lot lately and this is the first time this has happened. Hmmm. I'm standing firm and blaming Windows. I wanted to blame paypal, but since its fine for everyone else I'll blame the second greatest pain in the a** in my life ;)
That's it - I'm having my beloved install linux for sure!!Last edited by Sarahamh; 04-28-2009 at 06:17 AM.

Yeay LINUX! Unfortunately it's what I call hippy software where there is not a lot of support for applications.
