easy add shopping carts?
Does anyone know of a good software or downloadable thingie for a preferably FREE but most importantly, easy to use shopping cart? I use Front Page and would like it to be compatible and idiot proof (easy to use).
Am looking for a shopping cart that ..once the buyer buys it, the image disappears or is automatically marked as SOLD. So that if it takes me a day to update it, someone else can't buy it. Hope that makes sense.
Also would be great if it was linked up to paypal somehow..I use paypal buttons already but is there a way to make the item disappear once the item is purchased?

I'm using Mal's www.mals-e.com which is free and works with paypal, but doesn't offer the out-of-stock feature you're looking for. I found it a little difficult to figure out at first, but once I 'got it' it's easy to use.
I think what you want is an inventory feature. Yahoo shopping had that when I used to have a store there, I could tell it that there was one, or five, or 20 of an item in stock and it would know when I was sold out and mark items accordingly.
I LOVED using Yahoo! store for many reasons and recommend it highly.

still researching inventory feature..

Jes, most decent carts should offer an inventory feature. Try x-cart, which can integrate with paypal, and also with Click&Ship via USPS if you're interested in that feature. It's basically a more user-friendly version of OS Commerce. Not free, but cheap. OSCommerce is free but a little less "dummies" oriented

THANK YOU! I've found most things worth having cost more and that's ok :)

i agree. also try zencart. stay away from oscommerce if you don't like it the way it is out of the box. customization is a real bear if you are not a php coder.
if you don't find a free application you are happy with, i sell a low cost shopping cart software that has its own intuitive admin panel. you don't even need frontpage.
good luck.
