Downloaded a song off of Amazon
So I bought Banat Baharei Folklore song off of Amazon. I am trying to burn the song onto CD but the 1st 40 seconds of the song skips and the rest is perfect. Sounds great on my computer but the burn doesn't work well.
Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong?
Or does anyone have that CD they are trying to sell? lol

Re: Downloaded a song off of Amazon
Greetings,
Have you tried burning with a different program. I use Nero. But, I have found that iTunes will burn a CD and Windows Media Player too.
Good Luck,
Val

Re: Downloaded a song off of Amazon
thats really wierd. some trouble shooting thoughts:
what program are you using to burn?
have you tried using disks from a different stack? sometimes a few disks in a stack will be defective.
have you tried cleaning your burner with compressed air?
does it skip when played in the computer you burned with or in a stand alone player or both?

Re: Downloaded a song off of Amazon
Some suggestions:
1. Make sure you do not have any apps running other than what you are doing (burning a cd).
2. As Sabrina suggested, clean your burner. You can buy a cdrom cleaner, which is just a disk with a brush on the bottom that cleans the optical lens. Don't attempt to clean it with a q-tip, you might damage it.
3. Ensure that the burn media you are using does not have any kind of residue on it before burning.

What media format are you using? MP3? Perhaps if you converted to another format it would work?

Great suggestions from everyone! I will clean, use a different CD and something other than Nero. I'll see what happens!
How to convert the mp3 into a different format?

Re: Downloaded a song off of Amazon
Audio editing programs usually have tools for exporting from one format to another. If you don't want to buy a program, you can get shareware utilities to convert between formats. Search for "Audacity" (popular freeware audio editing program) or "free utility convert MP3 to [desired format]" and you should be able to find something that can do what you need.

it did that to me one time too. one song kept skipping and took up two tracks while another didn't even play. but both worked on my computer on itunes. i think my computer went whacky, so try it again perhaps?
